Thoughtful Aging with Alina Wilson

The Best You Interview Series – Interview #82

Welcome to The Best You Interview series where I’m joined by interesting people for interesting conversations about interesting things!

For this episode I’m joined by writer, entrepreneur, employee development coach, philanthropist and advocate for women’s empowerment, Alina Wilson, to discuss her experience in and passion for thoughtful aging.

Alina’s life’s work is shaped by one goal: to help women discover and embrace their true beauty, both inside and out.

As a successful entrepreneur, she has mentored dozens of women, and in 2007 founded Bridgeport Laser and Wellness Center.

She is also a dedicated philanthropist, serving on the board of directors for the Portland-based organization Gather:Make:Shelter.

Alina’s book, Thoughtful Aging: Restoring Honor to the Aging Process is dedicated to the woman who longs to love her reflection and to break free from shame and judgment.

Key takeaways:

  • The narrative that youth equates to beauty is a societal construct that needs to be challenged.
  • The pursuit of beauty should come from a place of choice, not need.
  • Women should educate themselves about their hormonal health.
  • Building a care team is essential for proactive health management.
